JOURNEY OF OUR MISSION

Every Girl in School

Every Girl in School

May 2026

Every month, as part of our mission ‘Every Girl in School’, you chose to show up for a girl who could have been left behind. Your giving is the reason 1,644 girls spent this year in a classroom, learning, growing, and daring to dream.

This is what your support made possible in 2025–26:

But numbers only tell part of the story. They cannot capture the quiet determination of a girl sitting her Class X board exam after years of working as child labour, the pride of two girls representing India at the Asian Youth Olympic Games, or the joy of a classroom where science experiments and dance and drama have made learning something to look forward to.

Behind every figure above is a girl who is discovering what she is capable of — and slowly learning that her future belongs to her. This has been possible because of you.

Your support has changed lives. Please keep giving. More girls are waiting for someone like you.

April 2026

Our colleague Ritu Jain recently visited Vimukti Sansthan School in Jaipur, one of the NGOs you are supporting as part of the Every Girl in School mission. What she witnessed there was nothing short of inspiring.

Here are a few heartwarming moments from Ritu's visit in her own words:

What struck me first was not the campus or the classrooms — it was the girls themselves. They greeted us with smiles and respect, walked with discipline, and carried themselves with a quiet, unmistakable confidence. Transformation, I realised, doesn't always show up in report cards. Sometimes it shows in the way a girl holds her head up.

The school's biggest battle, I learned, is not financial, it is social. Convincing families to enrol their daughters, keeping them in school, and slowly shifting deep-rooted mindsets is a harder challenge than anything else. Yet Vimukti has held these girls' hands every step of the way.

The principal, Mrs. Jyoti Dixit, told me proudly that two of their students are currently pursuing B.Tech, a remarkable achievement given how difficult it was to gain parental consent. And their students recently represented India and won at the Asian Youth Games in Muay Thai.

When I asked the girls what they wanted to become, their answers were simple but determined — law, sports, the police. Their aspirations were shaped by their own experiences, their own circumstances. These were not borrowed dreams.

One moment stayed with me. A girl named Preeti told me that her cousin, despite years of education, plans to only get married. She questioned the point of studying if one never intends to use their skills. That single question said everything.

Vimukti is not just educating girls, it is shaping minds that observe, question, and think for themselves."

Your regular support gives these girls education, confidence, and the chance to dream beyond survival. Thank you for keeping them in school.

March 2026

Your support for our mission, Every Girl in School, is not just keeping girls in classrooms,  it is giving them the courage to dream bigger than anyone in their families ever thought possible.

Meet Vidhi (Grade 11) and Mohini (Grade 12), two remarkable girls from underprivileged backgrounds whose journeys through Vimukti's flagship Project Udaan are already redefining their families' futures.

Vidhi's dedication is extraordinary. She wakes up at 4 a.m. for Muay Thai training at her Martial Arts Academy, attends school, and returns for practice until 8 p.m. every single day. She dreams of winning an Olympic medal for the country one day. The sport is set to be part of the Olympics.

For Mohini, the transformation goes beyond sport. Her family comes from a community where girls' education is often discouraged. Yet today, her elder sister Payal — also a Vimukti alumna — is financially independent as a nurse. And Mohini is blazing her own trail in competitive Muay Thai, representing the country.

Without your support and Vimukti's relentless efforts to bring underprivileged girls into the schooling system, these dreams might never have found a voice.

Thank you for believing in their dreams.

Our colleague Marlin Yesmin recently visited Turnstone Global, one of the NGOs you are supporting as part of the Every Girl in School mission. What she witnessed there was nothing short of inspiring.

Here are a few heartwarming moments from Marlin’s visit in her own words:

“I visited a centre of Turnstone Global, where 60 children had gathered. These aren't ordinary students—they are first-generation learners, girl children who had dropped out of school, or those who work alongside their parents just to survive.

What struck me most was their eagerness to learn and excel. The girls were energetic, motivated, and eager to perform. Their dedication was truly heart-warming.

The girls performed a skit on the importance of girl child education. These are first-generation students themselves, yet they had not only learned the value of education but internalised its significance for their families and future generations.

The children showed me drawings addressing violence against women and environmental pollution—reflecting a strong social awareness despite their young age. Many dream of becoming police officers and teachers.

Turnstone hires teachers from the same communities where centres operate, ensuring cultural familiarity and trust. These teachers ensure that the kids don't drop out again.”

Your regular support gives these girls education, confidence, and the chance to dream beyond survival.

Thank you for keeping them in school.

January 2026

As the new year begins, we want to thank you for your steadfast monthly support to our mission Every Girl in School. Your generosity is truly transforming young lives.

This Christmas and New Year, the girls at Turnstone Global and Vimukti Sansthan celebrated with joy—dressing up, painting, and drawing. We are delighted to share their colourful artwork and festive moments with you.

These are girls who might have been pulled out of school to help their families while their brothers continued their education. But today, they are learning, creating, and dreaming. Just like any child should.

This is possible because of donors like you.

Your monthly contribution doesn't just keep them in classrooms—it gives them hope, confidence, and a chance at a future they can shape for themselves.

Thank you for believing in them. Thank you for standing by them, month after month.

December 2025

As the new year beckons, we want to thank you for standing by our mission, Every Girl in School, through your monthly support. Because of you, young girls are not only staying in school, they are discovering confidence, ambition, and possibility.

To give you a glimpse of this impact, we would like to share the story of Prabhjeet Kaur, a staff member at our NGO partner, Vimukti Sanstha. Known fondly as “Ms Jeet”, she has been part of Vimukti’s journey for 18 years—watching it grow from a small group of just 20 girls into a thriving community of over 850 students today.

“I cannot express how proud it makes me feel when girls win accolades at different levels. I feel privileged to be a part of their transformative journeys,” Prabhjeet shares.

Alongside her many responsibilities, Ms Jeet now leads Project Udaan, a programme focused on strengthening girls’ non-academic skills and helping them dream bigger and aim higher. Her dedication and belief in these girls shine through every day—and it is made possible because supporters like you choose to give consistently.

Dear donor, your regular support is changing lives, one girl at a time. Thank you for making this journey possible.

November 2025

Because of your compassion and support, 1,570 girls are attending school and receiving quality education in 2025—girls who might otherwise have been denied this opportunity due to poverty, child marriage threats, or family circumstances.

Your impact so far this year

Your generous support to our mission ‘Every Girl in School’ has enabled our NGO partners Turnstone Global in West Bengal and Vimukti Sanstha in Rajasthan to provide 710 and 860 girls respectively with education, school supplies, transportation, nutritious meals, and counseling support.

Here are some beautiful moments your donations created this year:

  • 100% of girls from Vimukti Sanstha cleared their 10th and 12th board exams! An incredible 78% passed in first division in 10th grade, and 91% passed in first division in 12th grade.

  • All children from Turnstone Global were promoted to their new classes with many securing excellent grades like A++, AA, and A in their Class 10 board exams.

  • Four girls were saved from forced child marriage when Turnstone Global intervened with local administration and counseled their families to allow them to continue their education.

  • On World Environment Day, girls from Turnstone Global planted 400 fruit saplings including jamun, guava, mango, amla, turmeric, and neem trees—nurturing both their future and the planet's.

  • 30 students from Vimukti Sanstha participated in interschool, district, state, and national competitions in gymnastics, Muay Thai, taekwondo, and contemporary dance. The girls won 8 medals in the District Level Under-14 gymnastics competition!

How Smita found her way back to school

Eight-year-old Smita (name changed) was working as a household help with her mother instead of attending school. With her father bedridden from throat cancer, the family couldn't afford education. Turnstone Global's team counseled Smita’s mother and assured her that tuition fees and school supplies would be covered. Smita was enrolled in a nearby government school and now attends remedial coaching. Her teacher says she's intelligent and creative in craft-making. Smita dreams of becoming an art teacher!

They are dreaming big

These girls are not just attending school, they are excelling, dreaming bigger, and building futures they once thought impossible. They're receiving remedial coaching, psychological counseling, self-defense training, menstrual hygiene awareness, and lessons on women empowerment.

Thank you for believing in the power of education and for being the reason these 1,570 girls can say, "I go to school." Your monthly support is transforming generations.

October 2025

"Girls do not drink milk. Milk is only for sons who go to school." These words shattered Lavalina Sogani. Spoken by her domestic help's 14-year-old daughter Sangeeta, they exposed a brutal reality: girls denied even nutrition while brothers were fed and educated. A mother of two, Lavalina couldn't look away. She launched a mission to give girls like Sangeeta what they deserved—education, dignity, and independence.

From that moment, Vimukti Sanstha was born. Under Lavalina's leadership, the organization has rescued hundreds of girls from poverty and discrimination, giving them what was denied: education. In her work, you are playing an important role with your regular donations to our mission ‘Every Girl in School.’

Here’s a direct message from Lavalina Sogani, Founder of Vimukti Sanstha expressing her sincere gratitude for your ongoing support of Mission Every Girl in School.

September 2025

Thank you for your regular support of Give’s Every Girl in School mission. Your contribution is creating great change for girls from tribal and underprivileged backgrounds in West Bengal’s Purulia district, where many children have never had access to education.

Because of you, girls like 8-year-old Smita (name changed)—the first in her family to step into a classroom—are now learning, growing, and dreaming beyond the cycle of poverty. This has been possible because of relentless efforts of our NGO Turnstone Global.

This August, we saw their confidence shine during Independence Day celebrations. For the first time, these girls felt part of the national mainstream, hoisting the flag, singing the anthem, and embracing a future full of possibilities.

Your kindness is not just sending them to school; it’s giving them hope, opportunity, and the chance to rewrite their stories. Thank you. Please continue your support.

(Attached are a few special moments from the celebrations. To protect the children’s privacy, faces have been blurred as per guidelines.)

August 2025

Ayesha, Jasmin, Tahera, and Tanya share one dream—to become doctors. Kavya dreams of being a teacher, and Farida aspires to serve in the Indian Army. These school girls dare to dream because of you.

Tanya, a Class 10 student, says she wants to become a doctor and serve the underprivileged. If her dream comes true, it will be thanks to your unwavering support through your monthly donation to our mission ‘Every Girl in School.’

Our partner NGO, Turnstone Global, works tirelessly to ensure girls like these, who might never have stepped inside a school, get an education by convincing their parents that their futures are worth investing in. And it’s all possible because of donors like you.

On behalf of every girl you’re empowering, thank you for your continued support.

With your generous support for our mission, Every Girl in School, you are not just keeping girls in the classroom, you are helping shape responsible, confident citizens of tomorrow!

Our NGO partner, Vimukti Sanstha, recently celebrated Earth Day and International Yoga Day with the girls in the school participating with incredible enthusiasm.

We’ve captured their creativity and energy in this special video. Click below to see your impact in action!

Many of these bright young minds would have been out of school without your kindness. Because of you, they’re learning, growing, and leading.

From all of us at give.do and Vimukti Sanstha, thank you for being the reason these girls have a future full of possibilities.

May 2025

Because of your compassion and support, more than 1,200 girls across India had the chance to go to school and get an education - something they were denied the opportunity to do before.

One of these fortunate girls was Soni* whose family is from a poor background and cannot afford to send her to school. Furthermore, the 8-year-old girl was forced to drop out of school to take care of her brother who was a special needs child and confined to his bed. Our Mission: Every Girl In School NGO partner Turnstone Global came across Soni and convinced her family to allow the NGO to help them send Soni back to school. The girl child is now a bright student in school on her way to a better future.

Lives impacted during the past year

Your care and support has led to 1,273 girl children receiving an education when it seemed as if there was no hope for them after being forced to drop out of school. The students’ tuition fees were covered by Mission: Every Girl In School and each child was also given essential school supplies.

Other achievements of Mission: Every Girl In School include:

  • 473 girl students continuing their schooling without dropping out

  • 23 girl children rescued from child labour and enrolled in local government schools

  • 6 child marriages stopped and the girls now continuing their education in school

Your support is changing lives!

Lives like young Parul* who was forced to drop out of school because her family could no longer afford to educate herself. With the support of our Mission: Every Girl In School NGO partner Vimukti Sanstha, Parul was able to stay in school and even take on the role of helping the other children since she was such a bright student. Parul is now on her way to a better future and hopes to become a teacher, thanks to your support!

Your support is changing the lives of girls across India! 🙏🏽

April 2025

April 2025

Because of you, girls who are part of our mission ‘Every Girl in School programme’ are enjoying a childhood filled with learning, laughter, and limitless possibilities.

Recently, our NGO partner Turnstone Global took the girls on an unforgettable educational tour to Alipore Zoological Garden in Kolkata. For many, it was their first time seeing animals up close. Their eyes sparkled with curiosity as they learned about each animal’s habitat, asked endless questions ("Why do lions sleep so much?"), and enjoyed a picnic-style refreshment.

Many of these girls would have been out of school, helping their parents at home due to extreme poverty. But not any longer. This change is only possible because of your belief in their potential and your support for our mission, Every Girl in School.

We’ve shared a few pictures from the day (with faces blurred for privacy), but trust us—their smiles are glowing!

One of the outcomes of our mission Every Girl in School - of which you are a valued supporter - is that an education will help this generation of girls find suitable employment and increase family incomes.

To this end, our NGO partner Vimukti Sanstha works hard to introduce its senior girls to different professions and career options through seminars and workshops.

Without your support and Vimukti Sanstha’s relentless efforts to bring underprivileged girls into the schooling system, breaking the cycle of poverty, Vidhi’s and Sanjana’s extraordinary talents might have remained hidden forever.

Watch their stories, in their own words, in the video below and see how your contribution is creating a brighter future for girls like them:

This winter, 45 girls from classes 11 and 12 went on an industry visit to Jaipur's Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery, where students gained hands-on knowledge about:

  • Various types of gems and metals

  • The process of cutting and polishing stones

  • Creation of moulds for different designs

  • Computer aided design

A month later, 60 enthusiastic girls attended an interactive jewellery-making workshop at the school. And as a follow-up, students will have the opportunity to intern at a reputed jewellery institute during their summer break.

All in all, a gem of a quarter - made possible thanks to donors like you!

As the new year begins, we wanted to reaffirm our gratitude for your monthly donation to our mission Every Girl in School. Below, staff at our NGO partner Turnstone Global, give a glimpse of how the mission is helping turnaround young lives.

In my 10 years I’ve seen lots of traumatised girls and spent time with parents to make them see why they should not take their daughters out of school for chores or earning money as a domestic. Till date I’ve stopped 149 girls’ early marriage and got 684 back to school. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to change our society.”

Till date I’ve admitted 562 girls to local government schools after they attended our remedial coaching classes. When they start mainstream schools, they’re often bullied which is scary. We ease their fear through counselling, follow up with school heads, parents and family members. I feel proud to be part of such noble work.”

Half-yearly reports from partner NGOs for our mission Every Girl in School have recently come in. And you will be pleased to know how regular support from donors like you is fuelling stories of transformation - like that of 12-year-old Gayatri.

When her mother was forced to stop working for health reasons, her parents, of modest means, had to pull Gayatri and her sister out of a local private school, leaving only their brother to attend. Luckily they heard about Vimukthi Sanstha and admitted their daughters to their free English medium girls’ school. Gayatri couldn’t be happier as she loves speaking in English! She said: “I did not like English at my earlier school. I did not even like studying there. Here I enjoy studying.”

LIVES IMPACTED

You have also contributed to 1,171 girl children’s education being supported with tuition fees and essential school supplies, including school bags, uniforms, books and stationery.

Other achievements highlighted by each of our mission NGO partners include:

  • Turnstone Global enrolled 366 girl children living in slums/difficult situations to nearby government schools in Kolkata and Purulia. This includes 12 girls rescued from child labour and four from being child brides

  • Vimukti Girls scored better than the national average this year in the Ei ASSET nationwide exam and were the top performers among girls-only schools in this competition that evaluates students’ depth of learning

EVERY NUMBER HAS A NAME

…and every name has a story! Like that of Suman Kumari, whose life upturned after she lost her mother to COVID and her father remarried. Forced to do chores by her stepmother all day and thrashed by her drunk rickshaw puller father when he got home at night, she barely attended school for three years. It was only when Turnstone Global’s community worker heard Suman’s story and the local authorities warned the parents to stop abusing her, that she resumed school a few months ago. Now a regular at class, Suman loves and respects her teachers and dreams of being one herself one day.

Here’s a direct message from Kanchan Gaba, Secretary of Turnstone Global, expressing her sincere gratitude for your ongoing support of Mission Every Girl in School.

Dear <DonorName>,

Please accept my deep gratitude for your monthly contribution to Give’s mission Every Girl in School. Such ensured financial support gives us the confidence to run our programme without worry of funding.

Thanks to donors like you we have been able to send 366 girls from tribal and slum communities to school after convincing their parents that girls are not just meant for early marriage, procreation and household chores.

Regular support also sustains our goal to make long-term changes in the communities we work in. By ensuring girls go to school, we are creating educated future mothers, and a child of an educated mother will never be illiterate!

Warm regards,

Your support to our mission, Every Girl in School, is empowering young girls to realise their dreams. Witness the impact of your generosity by reading these heartfelt testimonials from parents whose daughters have been empowered by Vimukti Sanstha, one of the beneficiary NGOs of your monthly donation.

“I was left alone by my husband after I gave birth to a girl. I became a single mother. I couldn’t afford my girl’s education.

“I was left alone by my husband after I gave birth to a girl. I became a single mother. I couldn’t afford my girl’s education.

But Vimukti Sanstha came forward to help my daughter Manisha, throughout her education. They provided her with a quality education free of cost, even helping her pursue physiotherapy after completing her XIIth grade. I am grateful to the donors and Vimukti Sanstha for empowering Manisha to become a confident and independent young woman.”

“As a father & an e-rickshaw driver struggling to make ends meet, I faced challenges providing a quality education for my children.

Thanks to Vimukti Sanstha, my daughters have received not only excellent education but also opportunities to excel in sports and pursue further studies like NEET coaching. I'm eternally grateful to Vimukti and its generous donors for empowering my girls to chase their dreams.”

Thank you for your support.

Our team member Atreyi visited Vimukti Sansthan, one of the NGOs being supported by you through our mission, ‘Every Girl in School.’ She is happy to report that scores of girl children are back in school and they have great dreams for the future.

Would you like to see how your support is changing lives? Atreyi explains:

This has been possible because of you. Thank you.

Impact reports from partner NGOs for our mission Every Girl in School have recently come in. And, as a monthly donor, you will be pleased to learn about how your regular contribution is changing lives - like that of 7-year-old Sadiya

Abandoned for being a girl by her father, Sadiya and her mum Zarina believed that she was not destined for education so she had already found employment - washing utensils for local households. Turnstone Global intervened, counselled Zarina and convinced her to send her daughter to the nearby government school. Now, thanks to support from donors like you, Sadiya is able to enjoy her school days like other kids in the neighbourhood.

LIVES IMPACTED

You have also contributed to 786 girl children being provided with tuition fees and essential school supplies, including school bags, uniforms, books and stationery.

Other achievements highlighted by each of our mission NGO partners include:

  • 136 girl children living in slums/difficult situations were enrolled to nearby government schools in Kolkata and Purulia by Turnstone Global; 120 have got excellent grades.

  • 100% girls of Vimukti Sanstha secured first division and 60% girls achieved distinction in XII Board Examinations. Vimukti girls also won 11 medals at the National UMAI Championship.

EVERY NUMBER HAS A NAME

And every name has a story - like Vimukti’s Vandana Koli. She recently came second in class, but this is new for the quiet grade 3 student, known to be a “repeater” with an absolute phobia for English. One of six in her family, Vandana’s father’s meagre earnings as a marble factory worker barely makes ends meet. With support from our Every Girl in School mission, teachers were able to provide six months of activity- based learning which has transformed Vandana into a star performer!
