Your monthly support to our mission Protect Abandoned Elders does more than provide shelter, food, and care. Sometimes, it gives someone the strength to walk again.
Recently, our partner NGO SHEOWS made this possible for Vikram Singh, 65, who was abandoned by the family and left helpless on a train to Delhi. Disoriented and unwell, Vikram was found wandering near a Railway Station. SHEOWS's rescue team spotted him and brought him to their Ashram.

What followed was a slow, determined recovery. With medical care, physiotherapy, and consistent nourishment, slowly regained his strength, and Vikram’s spirit.
Today, vIkram walks short distances, eats independently, and even greets fellow residents with conversations
This recovery is a powerful reminder of what your generosity makes possible. Because of you, abandoned elders are not only cared for, they are given back their dignity, one small step at a time.
Every month, as part of our mission Protect Abandoned Elderly, you chose to show up for an elder who had no one left. Your giving is the reason 1,284 abandoned elders spent this year with a roof over their heads, meals on their plates, and people who truly cared for them.
This is what your support made possible in 2025–26:

Yet what stays with you are not the numbers. It is the elder who finally has someone to celebrate a birthday with, the widow mother who no longer goes to bed hungry, and the person rescued from the streets who now has a place to call home.
This has been possible because of you. Your support has changed lives. Please keep giving. More elders are waiting for someone like you.
Our colleague Edin Jayanti recently visited Pure Devotion Foundation in Radha Kund, Uttar Pradesh, one of the NGOs supported by you, our monthly donors who are part of Mission: Protect Abandoned Elders

Here’s what Edin has to say about the impact of your support:
“During my visit to their shelter homes, I saw how your donations are restoring dignity to elderly widowed women. Pure Devotion currently shelters 27 matajis (aged 60+) across two facilities. Each person has their own private room with an attached toilet—a simple but profound dignity.
One mataji, who lost the family years ago, told me through tears, ‘This is the first time in years I have a room to call my own. I can pray, cook my own meal, and sleep without fear.’

Beyond shelter, your support provided monthly grocery supplies, ₹2,000 cash for personal needs, fruits, milk, and even physiotherapy and homeopathy care.
Pure Devotion Foundation also provided grocery kits to 430 matajis who live in different places but are in need of support.
The matajis at the ashram spend their mornings in kirtan and bhajan, living the devotional life they deeply cherish.
Thank you for giving these elders not just care, but a true home.”
Our colleague Edin recently visited SHEOWS (Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society), one of the NGOs supported by you, our monthly donors who are part of the mission Protect Abandoned Elderly.
Here's what Edin has to say about the impact your donations are making on the ground:
"During my visit to SHEOWS' facility in Okhla, Delhi, I witnessed first-hand how your donations are transforming lives. For over three decades, SHEOWS has been rescuing abandoned and homeless elderly individuals from the streets of Delhi NCR, providing them with shelter, medical care, and dignity. Their facilities currently support approximately 500 elderly residents — and over the years, they have touched the lives of more than 7,000 individuals.
What struck me most was the completeness of their care. From the moment someone is rescued off the street, SHEOWS takes over entirely — emergency medical treatment, a pathology lab, an in-house pharmacy, physiotherapy, round-the-clock doctors and nursing staff, and even an ICU. For many of these residents, this is the first time in years they have received any care at all.
During my visit, I spoke with five residents. Most had been abandoned by their families and were living on the streets before SHEOWS found them. What I heard, again and again, was not bitterness — but gratitude. Several residents told me they wish to spend the rest of their lives here. For them, SHEOWS is not just a shelter. It is home."
Thank you for making these life-restoring interventions possible through your monthly support.
Your monthly support to our mission Protect Abandoned Elders does more than provide shelter, food, and care. Sometimes, it helps restore dignity and peace to someone who has spent years simply surviving.
Recently, our partner NGO Pure Devotion Foundation made this possible for Manu Dasi, a 65-year-old widow. For 14 years, she had been living in a broken room next to a public restroom, begging for alms to survive.
She lost her husband when she was just 46, and spent nearly two decades struggling alone.

Today, Manu Dasi has a place to call home at the NGO's shelter. She no longer has to beg. Instead, she can focus on her health and devotion. In her own words: "I could never have imagined to live in peace like this.”
This transformation is what your generosity makes possible. Many abandoned elders like Manu Dasi are not only sheltered, they are given the chance to live with dignity, purpose, and peace.
Thank you for standing with elders who have no one else to turn to.
This holiday season, something beautiful happened at Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society (SHEOWS) and Jeevan Aanand Sanstha (JAS).
The halls filled with laughter. Stories were shared over warm meals. New friendships blossomed. And as Christmas lights twinkled and the New Year arrived, the elderly residents in our care experienced something precious: the joy of celebration surrounded by community.
Your support made all of this possible.
The images below capture these special moments—the smiles, the togetherness, the dignity of celebrating life's milestones in a place that feels like home.

Because of donors like you, SHEOWS and JAS can offer more than shelter. They provide a home where abandoned elders can live their golden years with happiness, purpose, and the care they deserve.
From all of us, and especially from the residents whose lives you've touched—thank you for being part of their journey.
Your monthly support to our mission Protect Abandoned Elders does more than provide shelter, food, and care. Sometimes, it helps restore something far more precious—a lost connection with family.
Recently, our partner NGO Jeevan Anand Sanstha made this possible for an elder who had gone missing from their family and was later found unwell and disoriented on the streets of Maharashtra. With no clear details about home or loved ones, the elder, Fuldevi, was brought to safety and care at the NGO’s shelter.

What followed was months of patient care and determined effort. Using small clues, conversations, and even simple online searches, the team worked tirelessly to trace the elder’s roots. Their compassion and persistence finally led them to the family in Uttar Pradesh. After months of separation, the family was reunited, bringing relief, dignity, and closure to everyone involved.
This reunion is a powerful reminder of what your generosity makes possible. Because of you, abandoned elders are not only protected and cared for—they are seen, valued, and sometimes guided back home.
Thank you for standing with elders who have no one else to turn to. Your continued support gives them safety, hope, and a chance to reconnect with life itself.
Our colleague Edin Jayanti recently visited Jeevan Anand Ashram, one of the NGOs supported by you, our monthly donors who are part of the mission Protect Abandoned Elderly.
Here’s what Edin has to say about the impact your donations are making on the ground:

“During my visit to Jeevan Anand Ashram in Virar, Maharashtra, I witnessed firsthand how your donations are transforming lives. This is one of the old age homes of the NGO. The ashram currently provides shelter, medical care, and dignity to 26 rescued elderly and mentally challenged individuals and people who were once abandoned on streets or left in hospitals with nowhere to go.
One interaction that deeply moved me was with Mr. Pascal Fernandes, who has called the ashram home for the past seven years. Abandoned by wife and son, Pascal could have lost all hope. Instead, he found belonging here. Despite being wheelchair-bound, he spends his days painting diyas and making greeting cards, contributing to the ashram community in his own beautiful way.

"This ashram is now my true home," he told me with genuine gratitude. "I receive complete care without any worry."
Thank you for making these life-restoring interventions possible through your monthly support.
This Independence Day, the elderly residents at our partner NGOs, SHEOWS (Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society) and Jeevan Aanand Sanstha, experienced a wave of emotion and pride. Many of them grew up in a young, independent India and carry memories of the nation’s journey. This year, their celebrations were filled with patriotism, reflection, and heartfelt moments.
As the tricolour flag flew high and patriotic songs filled the air, stories of their youth resurfaced—tales of sacrifice, hope, and the pride of watching India grow. For these abandoned elders, the day was not just about remembrance; it was about reclaiming their sense of belonging and dignity.
The Rakshabandhan festivities were filled with joy, with women tying rakhis and men pledging their protective vows.
The attached photographs capture more than a celebration. They reflect how your generosity is bringing purpose and joy to their lives.

Thanks to your support for our Protect Abandoned Elders mission, SHEOWS and Jeevan Aanand can provide a safe and loving home where these cherished elders can live their golden years with respect, happiness, and fulfillment.
When Roop Singh, 60, arrived at Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans' Welfare Society (SHEOWS) in June 2024, they could barely move. Roop Singh was abandoned and hopeless. But thanks to your support and the NGO’s efforts, Roop Singh’s story took a turn toward healing.

Your support to the Protect Abandoned Elderly mission provided Roop Singh with medical care, surgery, physiotherapy, round-the-clock love by caregivers who became family and a second chance.
Today, Roop Singh walks independently, smiles brighter than ever!
This transformation didn’t just heal a body—it restored dignity and hope. And it happened because you chose to stand with the abandoned elderly through our Protect Abandoned Elderly mission.
Holi, the festival of colours, has a magical way of awakening the child within us all—even for the elderly who call SHEOWS and Jeevan Aanand Sanstha home. This year, our partner NGOs were swept up in a vibrant celebration where laughter rang louder than the years weighing on their shoulders.
As colours filled the air, so did stories—of childhood pranks played long ago, of youthful Holis celebrated with family now gone. For these abandoned elders, the true magic was in the rediscovered sense of belonging.
These photographs capture more than the festival of Holi; they show how your generosity is bringing joy to the lives of the elderly.

Thanks to your support for Protect Abandoned Elders, SHEOWS and Jeevan Aanand can provide a home where our elderly residents can live their golden years with happiness and fulfillment.
Thanks to your generosity, our NGO partners under the Protect Abandoned Elders (PAE) mission are providing love, care, and shelter to many abandoned elders.
Here, we bring a message from two elderly parents who are part of an old age home of Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans' Welfare Society (SHEOWS), our NGO partner.
When Nita fell ill and was abandoned, there was nowhere to turn. Thankfully, SHEOWS came to the rescue. Now, with a new home at SHEOWS, Nita has recovered and is safe and loved.
Similarly, Shashikant Sharma, a 75-year-old resident of SHEOWS, endured the pain of abandonment. Today, Sashikant too has found a loving home at SHEOWS, surrounded by compassion and support.
Both Nita and Shashikant are now living happily, like many other elders. And this transformation has been made possible because of donors like you. Your kindness has given them a second chance at life, filled with dignity and love.
When we asked Nita and Shashikant for a message to today’s youth, their words were simple: “Take care of your parents.”
Thank you for being a part of this life-changing mission. We are deeply grateful for your compassion and commitment.
We thought you might like to meet some of the kind-hearted people who look after the vulnerable seniors you are supporting through our mission Protect Abandoned Elders. Below, is a glimpse into the lives of two staff members at our NGO partner Jeevan Aanand Sanstha (JAS).

'Aaba' to everyone, Deepak lives in JAS's Samarth Ashram 24/7. He not only prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner for residents, he also visits elders when they are hospitalised, providing medicine and comfort. He said: "God gave me this opportunity. When I see their smiling faces after eating, I feel joy."

Widowed and a senior citizen herself, 'Kaki' has been working in JAS's Sanvita Ashram for 9 years. Every day, she bathes 10 women residents, changes diapers of bedridden patients and serves all meals. Kaki also does night duty 3 days a week. She says she is bored at home and is always happy to be with her "friends".
Thank you for your continued support.
As the holiday season unfolded, a wave of warmth and cheer swept through the home at Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society (SHEOWS), our NGO partner that cares for abandoned elders.
As residents of SHEOWS celebrated Christmas and welcomed the New Year, there was laughter, shared stories, and a sense of community that warmed the hearts of all.
These images capture the spirit of the season and the joy that your generous support has brought to the lives of the elderly.
Thanks to your support for Protect Abandoned Elders, SHEOWS can provide a home where our elderly residents can live their golden years with happiness and fulfillment.
Thank you for being a part of their journey.
Half-yearly reports from partner NGOs for our mission Protect Abandoned Elders have recently come in. And some of the stories of transformation, thanks to regular support from donors like you, are truly heartwarming.
For instance, when Amal Desai*, 70, was brought to SHEOWS' Delhi ashram, he had dementia, COPD and severe anaemia. Besides medication, his care included physiotherapy for back pain and mobility, breathing exercises for COPD and a diet plan to combat anaemia. With emotional support in a compassionate environment, the septuagenarian's overall health has stabilised. He said: "They have cared for me like family, providing everything I need to feel better, valued and safe."
LIVES IMPACTED
You have also contributed to 678 abandoned elders being provided with shelter, food and healthcare.
Other achievements highlighted by each of our mission NGO partners include:
Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society (SHEOWS) conducted 27,890 pathological tests, 81,000 vital check-ups and 36,783 physiotherapy sessions to improve the health of elders in its care.
49 beneficiaries of the 200 supported by Jeevan Aanand Sanstha were reunited with their families.
EVERY NUMBER HAS A NAME
…and every name has a story and every story matters to us - like that of 70-year-old Rajeshbhai Jain’s*. Part paralysed and with a mental ailment, the police brought him to Jeevan Aanand's Samarth Ashram after he went missing from his home near Vadodara, Gujarat and was found in the Palghar district, Maharashtra. Once Vaghri revealed the name of his hometown, the ashram contacted the local police, found his family had lodged a 'missing' case and they are now happily reunited.

Thank you for helping make such stories of hope possible 🙏🏽
Your generous monthly support is making a significant difference in the lives of elderly residents at Jeevan Anand Sanstha (JAS), one of our NGO partners that is part of give.do’s mission, Protect Abandoned Elderly.

Thanks to your kindness, JAS is able to provide a place of peace where over 200 elderly are safe and comfortable. The elderly, who were abandoned or faced abuse before they were rescued, can also relax and rejuvenate. Here’s how they do it:
The joy of gardening: Seniors find solace and joy in tending to gardens that are part of JAS. For many elders, it is a therapeutic escape, promoting physical and mental well-being.
Celebrations: From vibrant festivals to calming yoga sessions, JAS creates opportunities for the elderly residents to experience happiness and peace.
Your support empowers JAS and other NGOs to create a nurturing environment where the elderly can live their golden years with dignity and joy.
Thank you for being a part of their journey.
Here’s a direct message from Sandeep Parab, founder of Jeevan Anand Sanstha (JAS), expressing his sincere gratitude for your ongoing support of Mission Protect Abandoned Elders.

Dear Donor,
On behalf of Jeevan Anand Sanstha (JAS), I extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation and unwavering support. Your contribution is crucial in helping us continue our mission to care for the destitute and homeless, a cause that has been our sole focus since our inception in 2013.
At present, 200 destitute, physically and mentally ill elderly brothers and sisters are being given shelter and service through 9 ashrams, shelter homes and daycare centres of the organisation. To date, over 850 destitute brothers and sisters have been served by us. We have also united over 250 elderly people with their families in different states.
We have been able to do this only with your kind love and support. Thank you once again for your compassion and generosity. Please continue to support us.
Warm regards,

We visited SHEOWS, an NGO you help through our mission Protect Abandoned Elders. We were impressed by their medical facilities, and it’s all thanks to your generosity!

Your monthly commitment to support our mission Protect Abandoned Elders has brought smiles to many faces - for which we are all very grateful.
Recent impact reports from our NGO partners highlight how care and compassion for the vulnerable elderly can change their suffering into joy.

For instance, after mentally ill Vithu Gadoria went missing from Mankhurd, Mumbai, she was found in a deplorable condition under the Colvale Bridge in Goa. Jeevan Aanand Sanstha rescued the 55-year-old and admitted her to their ashram, providing psychiatric treatment, food, medicines and care. Once she regained her memories and shared her family details, the team traced her relatives who, having presumed she had died, were relieved and happy to take her back home.
LIVES IMPACTED
You have also contributed to 754 abandoned elders being provided with shelter, food and healthcare, including nutritious meals three times a day and top notch medical facilities.
