Safe Water for All
May 2026
Your monthly commitment to our mission Safe Water For All continues to make a vital difference in the drought-prone regions of Maharashtra in the last financial year (2025-26). Updates from our partner Marathwada Gramin Vikas Sanstha show just how far your support has reached.

Here is what your giving made possible this year:
462 meters of nala deepened and widened in Dhakephal village helping 250 households in Lamanwadi and Dhakephal with access to drinking water and reduced dependence on costly private water sources
105 meters of nala deepened and widened in Antarwali Rathi village — creating an additional 3,240 cubic meters of water storage
4 horizontal borewells constructed in the Gram Panchayat water supply dug well in Lamanwadi Tanda — significantly increasing water yield for the community
This integrated approach to water conservation is helping vulnerable farming families bounce back from climate shocks, season after season.

A story from the ground
Sakharam Eknath Jadhav, 59, a marginal farmer in drought-prone Antarwali Rathi (Jalna), struggled for years with a stream that flooded his 1.25-acre farm in monsoon and went dry in summer. After MGVS deepened, widened, and de-silted the nala and built guide bunds, 3,240 cubic meters of water now spans 180 meters beside his farm. His crops are safer, his family has water, and the tanker is gone.
Your monthly donation made Sakharam's story possible. And there are many more like him waiting.
Thank you for building water resilience where it is needed most.

In his own words:
"My 15-foot well and 365-foot borewell would run dry by January. We had to fetch drinking water from neighbouring wells or buy expensive tanker water. I spent hours searching for fodder for my cows. Some years, we didn't know how we'd survive."
But thanks to you and our NGO partner Marathwada Gramin Vikas Sanstha (MGVS), Haridas's village revived a local stream. Through a Nala Desilting and Widening project, 510 metres of the stream were deepened and widened, creating 19,125 cubic metres of water storage. Groundwater recharge now supports crops during summer, and 200 households in his village have benefited.
"Now I see hope! I can cultivate with confidence, care for my cows, and secure my family's future," says a beaming Haridas.
You made this possible. Your monthly commitment is restoring dignity, livelihoods, and hope to farmers like Haridas in one of India's most drought-affected regions.
Thank you for standing with us. Please continue your support.

Your support for our monthly mission Safe Water For All is transforming lives in drought-hit Maharashtra. Take the example of Haridas Narayan Makal (Pic enclosed), a 65-year-old farmer from Vaidyakinhi village in Beed district who has spent his life battling water scarcity.
Owning just 2 acres of land and 2 cows, Haridas supports a family of seven, including his mentally challenged younger son. For years, he depended solely on rainfed crops, but erratic rainfall meant his yields were devastated season after season.

Your monthly commitment to support our mission Safe Water For All continues making a vital difference in drought-affected regions of Maharashtra.

In the villages of Antarwali Rathi and Lamanwadi Tanda, 495 people from 165 households now have improved access to water through conservation efforts led by our NGO partner Marathwada Gramin Vikas Sanstha.
Highlights for the first half of 2025-26 include:
Nala deepening and widening completed in Antarwali Rathi – creating 1,880 cubic meters of water storage (18.8 lakh liters).
75 beneficiaries from 25 households now have increased groundwater levels in their borewells and dugwells.
4 horizontal borewells drilled in the Gram Panchayat water supply well of Lamanwadi Tanda village.
140 households (420 people) now receive regular and adequate water supply due to increased yield.
This integrated approach to water conservation is helping vulnerable farming communities build resilience against Maharashtra's climate crisis—from severe droughts to unexpected floods.
Change on the ground
Ganesh Kailash Pawar, a 38-year-old farmer from Lamanwadi Tanda village, struggled for years with water scarcity on his six-acre land. A narrow stream nearby would overflow during rains, damaging crops, yet leave no water for irrigation during dry months. His well would run dry by February, making it impossible to complete the rabi season. Ganesh and neighboring farmers approached Marathwada Gramin Vikas Sanstha (MGVS) for help. Through their Nala Deepening and Widening project, MGVS restored 105 meters of the stream, creating 1,880 cubic meters of water storage. Now, groundwater levels have risen, and Ganesh's well stays full until April—ensuring he can irrigate wheat, jowar, and gram confidently, transforming his family's livelihood.

Thank you for your contribution towards building water resilience where it's needed most.

Your regular support of our mission, Safe Water For All, is making a lasting impact on the lives of communities and the environment.
We are excited to share the inspiring results of the transformative change that donations have helped created. Because of regular support from donors, Marathwada Gramin Vikas Sanstha (MGVS), our NGO partner on the ground has been able to restore and revitalise water bodies across several villages in Maharashtra.
These projects have not only improved water storage and availability but have also transformed barren lands into thriving ecosystems, benefiting agriculture, livelihoods, and overall water security.
Below are just a few examples of the impact on the ground:
Gandhali Village Pond (Jalgaon District)
Before:
Barren land overrun with bushes and silt, with no water retention.
After:
A 51,000-cubic-meter reservoir, solving drinking water issues and boosting water levels in 50-60 borewells.

Mahankal Wadgaon NDW 2 (Ahmednagar District)
Before:
Khari River choked with silt, bushes, and ineffective storage.
After:
A cement check dam now stores 39,000 cubic meters, benefiting 250-270 acres of farmland.

Kanadgaon NDW 3 (Ahmednagar District)
Before:
Girnar Nala filled with silt and debris, with no water retention.
After:
Desilted and deepened, now storing 44,527 cubic meters, improving irrigation for 180-220 acres and water security.

These transformations are just the beginning. With your support, we can replicate this success in many more villages, ensuring a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for all.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.

Your monthly commitment to support our mission Safe Water For All has started making an impact, evident from recent fund utilisation reports from our NGO partners.
In one of Maharashtra's most drought-prone regions, Marathwada Gramin Vikas Sanstha has helped farming communities in two villages restore existing water storage structures. It has:
Deepened and widened a nala in Antarwali Rathi village, creating a storage for 3,24,000 litres of water.
Constructed a recharge shaft in a stream in Pangra village, which will lead to a 10-fold increase in the ground water capacity of the area.

These measures will reduce long-standing dependency on water tankers for drinking and improve crop yields and agricultural sustainability.
Thank you for your contribution towards reviving water supply for those whose livelihoods most depend on it.

Your regular contribution to our mission Water For All is helping farmers in one of the most water-stressed regions of our country. Here is one such story.

For years, the life of Gorakh Sukhdev Walke, a farmer, like many others in Marathwada of Maharashtra, has been deeply impacted by drought. Dwindling agricultural yields meant he struggled to keep his family of seven above the poverty line.
Our NGO on the ground, Marathwada Gramin Vikas Sanstha (MGVS), has focused on addressing the root cause of the problem for farmers like Sukhdev: water scarcity. MGVS helps farmers through rainwater conservation, groundwater replenishment and optimising its use in farming, and by boosting farmer incomes.
Through your donations to our mission, MGVS and other NGOs can reach out to many more farmers.
You are not only empowering rural communities to build resilience against climate change but also ensuring a sustainable future.
Thank you for being a part of our mission.
Thank you for your generosity and support in advancing our mission! Your contribution makes a difference.
